MyBarMap helps you discover and track bars in your area, but most importantly, it's a tool for proving your bar-going credentials. Here's what you can do:
Note: Our bar list is powered by an API and may include some places that aren't actual bars or pubs. Your feedback helps us keep the list accurate!
There is a wide spectrum of bars and bar-adjacent establishments. We are happy to list a broad range of these venues, such a spectrum may look like this:
My personal guideline is to consider the primary purpose of the establishment. If drinking is a significant part of the experience, it likely qualifies as a bar. I like to ask myself, "If I haven't been here, can I still say I've been to every bar?"
That helps exclude places that are primarily focused on food or non-drinking activities, or places that are more well-known for something else, like a brewery, hotel, or concert venue.
Of course, you're always welcome to vote with your own criteria in mind!
What we generally don't include: Restaurants that only serve alcohol with meals, coffee shops, convenience stores, or places where drinking isn't the primary activity.
If you encounter a place that doesn't fit our definition, please vote it down! Your feedback helps keep our database accurate and useful for everyone. We want users to focus on discovering actual drinking establishments, not feel penalized for missing places that aren't really bars.
